Can the machine be used to clean grout?
Yes, however results will vary. The scrubbing brushes are great for cleaning hard to reach dirt on grout. Results will vary depending on the existing condition of the grout, the depth of the grout and the chemicals that you use. You can use water alone or with any suitable cleaning product. The unit does away with the physical strain of cleaning with your hands. When using a cleaning product, please ensure that it is suitable for your particular flooring surface and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Will the machine work on rough/ceramic floor tiles?
Yes. The scrubbing brushes and scouring pads are both suited for cleaning ceramic floor tiles. Rougher tiles are best cleaned with the scrubbing brushes. Results on floor tiles will vary depending mainly on the existing condition of the tiles and also on the nature of the dirt. The rotating scrubbing brushes will agitate and lift the dirt from the surface within minutes, doing away with the laborious task of getting down on your hands and knees to clean and scrub.
What about cleaning stubborn stains?
Some tiles have stubborn stains or stains that are embedded into the tile which won’t come off even with rigorous scrubbing. If you are not sure whether this machine is appropriate for your particular situation, test a small area of the floor by scrubbing with a brush in a circular motion-you might even want to try cleaning the stain with a suitable chemical cleaning product- if you get the result you desire, then the unit will do the job you want it to. In a few cases, when even vigorous scrubbing fail to clean or polish the surface to your expectation, then this machine may not be useful for your particular need. Please feel free to contact us for further advice on suitability of the machine for your cleaning needs.
Can the machine be used to clean porcelain tiles?
Yes. The scrubbing brushes can both be used to clean porcelain tiles. Once the tiles are mopped dry, the soft buffing pads and cleaning cloths can be used to get rid of residual streaks or water stains and bring your porcelain floors to their original lustre.
How can I wax and polish my dull wooden floors?
First clean the floor thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. Apply a thin, even layer of polish to the floor. The scrubbing brushes can be used for applying liquid wax whereas a cloth applicator would be more suited to applying paste wax. Allow the wax to dry thoroughly or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Attach the buffing pads over the scrubbing brushes. With the handle upright stand the polisher on a newly waxed surface. Start where the polish was first applied and guide the polisher slowly over the floor. Only gentle pressure is required. A quick lustre can be given to old polished wooden surfaces simply by running the polisher, with the buffing pads in situ, over the dull area for a few moments.
How long to the attachments last for and how can I obtain more attachments?
The life of the attachments depends on the frequency with which they are used and how they are maintained. Hardened wax on brushes and pads will reduce their effectiveness so they should be cleaned after waxing. Wash the brushes in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Shake out excess water and stand them bristles down on a flat surface to dry. Alternatively a spirit grease solvent can be used. If used for cleaning, all attachments should be cleaned with water and allowed to dry before storing. Care must be taken not to distort the shape of the soft buffing pads.
